Join one of our most popular artists at the Mill, photographer Adrian Oakes, to learn the secrets of digital photography. During 6 sessions, Adrian will take you through everything from the basics, to shooting landscapes, people and animals, macro photography and post-processing.

The course runs every Monday evening starting on the 17th September until 22nd October, from 6.30pm to 9.00pm, and is held in the Mill's restaurant.

Cost: £92 for the six-week course. Due to the popularity of this course, you are advised to book early.
Equipment: You will need to bring a camera, on which the settings (aperture, shutter speed and others) can be adjusted, i.e. an SLR, CSC, Bridge camera or advanced Compact.
A little about Adrian...
Adrian Oakes is a successful and well known Landscape photographer based in Devon with many years of experience behind the camera. He has six hardback books published by Halsgrove, based on Dartmoor, The English Riviera and recently one on Devon Food Producers with top Devon chef, Peter Gorton. His images have also appeared on book and magazine covers, and are regularly used by businesses for promotion, brochures, web sites and publicity. He also sells his work through many outlets including the DNPA, National Trust, Tourist information centres, Otterton Mill, Becky Falls and many others throughout Devon. Adrian has judged photographic competitions and is a popular speaker at many camera clubs during the year. He was recently awarded a Licentiateship with the Royal Photographic Society and is currently working towards an Associateship. He is well known for his relaxed and intuitive teaching style that encourages the natural eye for a photo whilst sharing the necessary technical knowledge.
This course will benefit from new content in addition to the previous courses run at the Mill, including shooting waterfalls, cities (examples shown from New York), coastal shooting techniques and a more in-depth look at panoramas which have become extremely popular. Photoshop tuition will be using both the full CS and Adobe Elements.
