Welcoming Local Artist Emma Duke

We are delighted to welcome the work of Emma Duke to our Gallery.  

Emma is a local driftwood artist based in Somerset. By combing the South West beaches, she hand selects each individual piece of driftwood.

Inspired by natures elements and the ever changing coastline, Emma uses driftwood to express the freedom of natural beauty.

In the Equestrian Collection the concentration is on the powerful muscle forms, layering the beautiful shapes of driftwood to breathe life in to the horses. Each horse develops a unique character formed by the naturally sculpted driftwood. Looking deeper in to these artworks, the onlooker can appreciate the individual pieces of driftwood, magically sculpted by natures elements, evoking their own special thoughts and memories.

‘Affinity' (pictured) expresses the bond between horse and rider. The strength of mind and muscle combined. The driftwood looks wild and free, encapsulating the dramatic South West Coastline as each season passes us by.

Within her artworks, Emma hopes to express the spirit of life in this ever changing fast paced world.
